1. Will you be my photographers and whose work am I viewing? This is especially important for studios having multiple photography teams.
2. How many years of experience do you have photographing weddings? How many have you photographed? Is photography a hobby or a full time business and passion?
3. Can I view complete wedding albums? Look for consistency and variety. Are the images compelling, do you like the album designs? Can you view a church ceremony or outdoor ceremony, something similar to your event or maybe even at your venue?
4. Can I request specific images, have input on album design or opportunity to view design before it is finalized? Are the photographers willing to honor any special requests you might have?
5. Do you feel comfortable with your photographers? Met with your photographers, are you able to establish a rapport with them? You will spend most of, if not all of your day with your photographers. If you are not comfortable, you will not be happy and it will show in your photographs.
6. Will you help me plan the timeline of the day? Your photographer should be able to provide some guidance on timing of your day based on types of photos desired, bridal party and family, ceremony and reception details.
7. What happens after the wedding? When can we expect to view the images and what are the delivery time frames for album and other items.
These are a few ideas of questions to ask. There are not necessarily right and wrong answers, just a way for you to determine whose images and style are a good fit for your needs, personalities and wedding day.
If you feel confident in your photographers answers, like their work and personalities then it is time to lock in your date while it is still available.
