Nothing beats homegrown, ingredients you can pronounce and no preservatives. We took a recipe and fine-tuned it to make it a little healthier. Pineapple and applesauce provided sweetness and moisture so we have been able to reduce the sugar in the recipe. We added organic hemp seed (which is high in protein and Omega-3) and organic flax seed (which is also high in Omega-3).
We used farm fresh eggs from Spotted Hill Farm. We grew the zucchini and squash last summer which we shredded and froze. The homemade applesauce was made with delicious Honey Crisp apples from Weaver’s Orchard in Morgantown.
We are looking forward to the start of fresh local produce for the year! Can’t wait to start picking at Weaver’s and harvesting what we grow.
